Damon seemed a little bitter about Nirvana back then. Not everybody in America was about the grunge ( I should know ) Even though Blur has always been considered an "alternative" band here, their fans are very devoted <3

I hope Damon and co. feel a little more kindly towards America now =)

Back in 1992 it did seem like the UK music scene were obsessed with Nirvana & Pearl Jam and the UK bands were shocking. Then along came bands like Blur, Oasis, Elastica, Suede etc and it felt like we had our own sound. BritPop was born. Nothing against the US but as a teenager those bands meant the world to me!

By the way, Blur made peace with the US in 1997 The song Look inside America has these lyrics

But Blur's next album, the self-titled "Blur" had american influences, notably Pavement, and Damon had said that "Song 2" sounded "like an early Nirvana song, simple".

Now if this was filmed in 1997 or 1998 you would of seen Republica and Chumbawumpa on here with their knocked down song......I rest my case.
