Another video about my workflow in Cubase. I'm sorry for the bad audio quality. Listen to the original version here:

  • This is a very nice video, well worth the half hour. Just one question, did you take any course on writing orchestral music? I really want to get to it, but I don't have much background in identifying ensembles and their interaction with each other. But I listen to that kind of music often.

  • @jabbarman04 Hi, the only music lessons I have right now are piano lessons, and I don't follow and have never followed any course on composition. My only tip for you is to listen to as much beautiful music as you can and start doing it yourself!

  • what scale is this written in? how long was spent on this project? i am interested in writing this kind of music and am taking piano lessons while working with my daw fl studio. what are some tips? do you do like i do and compose my "main epic buildup section" first and make a song based off of that?

  • @dddavidshadowp Hi, this was written in one day. That explains the simplicity of the piece. And what do you mean with scale? Considering my composing tips for this kind of music, I usually don't really have the time to come up with a really good theme and work it out with motifs and so ond so I just improvise and when something cool happends then I just play it in: then the music itself starts to kinda flow out. Hope this helps, otherwise feel free to contact me again!

  • Very nice vid. Watched all of it. Altiverb is something I'd kill to have, but for now, I'll have to settle for much less expensive reverbs, heh.

  • @jabbarman04 Best way to learn about composition is to study compositions by others. Both listening, and sheet music. A good way to learn too is to do midi mockups of pieces you like by other composers.

  • this is very nice video

this video teach me how to improve my music

  • thank you god to upload something like this

  • Nice video but pop filter and de esser would be useful! :-)

  • @YourVisualDesigner I meant was it written Dminor with accidentals?

i do recall you stating that if something sounds good (to you (no offense)) and it breaks the rules of music theory, you go with it.

when you use ur midi keyboard do you first play what main melodies fo the entire song, such as the piano parts, then add everything else?

or play the intro piano and think "i have this piano that might make a good intro, what else could go with it?"

  • Thanks for posting this. The tips, especially on production, are just what I've been looking for.

    Best wishes,

    David
