Start up test using two HP Elitebook 6930p. The one on the left has the SSD. For the price I dont see a point in purchasing SSD.

  • Yes but what kind of SSD is in there? Also not all controllers can take advantage of the speed on SSD's. Test these out on real machines in a real environment and you'll see the difference.

  • Yes there are several SSD drives out there, this was the M for mobile devices.

As far as the controllers being able to take advantage. In this demonstration the control was the laptops, ie both identical. Thus allowing to see the true difference between the two drives.

You are implying to take a newer laptop and put against old tech, of course the new device will perform better!

  • That's my point you are putting a new technology in and old system. Try both of these drives out in a brand new machine that has a better controller and I bet you see a difference.
