@felinefury3000 Well, in my estimation, that Atlantis DVD has stellar sound and quality. Is there talk of a SOTT Blue Ray? Never heard of such talk or news.

@wendileona The Atlantis DVD of Sign is a unofficial release thats why you did not see WB on it!!! that version has now been BANNED here in Australia & my sister who lives in the the U.K said it is banned there because of copyright infringement i don't know about Canadian law regarding DVD releases but here in Australia you CANNOT buy the Atlantis format anymore. With that said when it does finally get released on Blue-Ray you can only imagine the sound & picture quality it will be UNBELIEVABLE

@felinefury3000 Cool info. I wonder why the canadian released DVD, a remaster or new print from a master copy of the film has no WB on it? Its got like some company named Atlantis something, cant remember. Nothing WB anywhere, on the packaging, the titles, maybe the ending credits but thats from '87.

@wendileona From my understanding Warner Brothers funded Prince $10 million for the distribution rights. Prince does own the copyright for S.O.T.T concert film but not the distribution rights of the MASTER COPY! Warners can release it however/whenever they want but there is some great news! Prince owns the copyrights so he gets 90% of royalties as it was released through his Paisley Park enterprises. My older brother works in entertainment law so he explained this to the best to his knowledge...

@felinefury3000 SOTT on BluRay? Really? Haven't heard of that. Im not sure WB owns the SOTT film... recently long lost footage was found, several tapes... maybe one day they'll see the light of day.

@wendileona Prince's S.O.T.T era was such Genius it is my favourite Prince era apart from Lovesexy & Purple Rain!!!! And whats more Warners will be soon be releasing S.O.T.T on Blue-Ray in 7.1 dolby digital. About freaking time because it was in need of a DELICIOUS REMASTER!!!!!!!

Im surprised. I loved the film in theater. I actually went right back in (paying twice of course!)..and saw it again. But for some reason I came here and thought/expected a bad review from S&E. I am glad they enjoyed it as much as I did. It was and is a great concert film. (Two thumbs up!>>::)))
I love the way Ebert marvels at Prince singing and then doing ...that!
That's because Prince was incredible then! I have yet to see any popular music artist do what he did here in '87, not yet, not ever I think.
That last part was funny!

Prince was a dynamo then, he can't even top himself now! I have yet to see ONE young/new performer come close to these concerts.
Factoid - It was revealed years later that Prince had to overdub the vocals and some of the solos, etc., heck the performances wholesale because the soundtrack didn't sync up or something went bad with the audio track during filming...! Or it could really have been that perhaps Prince didnt like the final cut/recordings and maybe just re-did the vocals.
