Had the mix of white & back popular music genres known as rock & roll had taken place in the 30's instead of the 50's, this is what it might have sounded like. The Band manages to take rock back to an era where it hadn't yet been invented, and sounds 100% authentic in the process.

@cdphatty Rick rolls his rs (for lack of a better phrase). I can now tell whose voice belongs to whom.To me Richard's voice is the best and most moving by far. Although Rick's certainly too has his moments.. great in Unfaithful Servant. And a few others where he does a great job. As for Levon. I only like his voice in Evangeline and The Night they drove old Dixie down. It was right that Levon did the lead vocals on that as he's from Arkansas so very appropriate to have a Southerner singing it.
