On November 23, 2011, a twin-engine Rockwell collided with terrain to the east of Phoenix. Three adults and three kids (aged 9, 8, and 6) were killed in what appears to be a classic nighttime Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) accident. At this time we do not know the exact location, speed, altitude etc of the aircraft and accident. We are assuming that there was no emergency in progress. All information in this reconstruction is purely speculative.
This 3 minute video shows the value of terrain information and Synthetic Vision.

We are way to worried about being "tasteful" in our society. People die, maybe this reminder might save a life. CFIT is ALWAYS preventable.

Could it be that this software company released such a video in a veiled attempt to sell their products? I sure hope not but I do question their motives.
Perhaps this is a good way to demonstrate the benefits of their software but it isn't tasteful to use a fresh event like this as their example.

Although this aircraft was probably not using an iPad, Maybe Hilton should consider and terrain warning signal to its WingX program as an added feature
