Sorry but your a moron, the AK is made to shoot with out the receiver cover LOL all it's there for is to keep dirt out and to be more safe for the shooter, it has no effect on the function of the rifle... Typical gun noob

UMMM the dust cover is NOT structually important its just a dust cover just like in an ar it flips out of the way this does nothing

@tacdriver22mk2 because there is always a chance that powder, or small pieces of dirt/metal could fly up into your face due to the rapid function of the open bolt. Sometimes an AK can shave off very thin brass shavings from the casing during function and without the dust cover those shavings could fly at your face.

I'm confused. What about this "feature" makes you like the AK more? It will also fire without the handguard, stock and pistol grip. The front sight, that can go too. You could even probably figure out a way to fire it without the trigger component.
