ICA Lines a Louis Grebenak Mural

ICA conservators prepare to line a mural by WPA-era Cleveland artist Louis Grebenak (1913-1971). The 40' mural belongs to the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority and was formerly displayed in the Valleyview Housing Complex in Tremont, Ohio.
In the video, conservators unroll the mural on top of an envelope comprised of layers of Dartek and Remay. The mural will later be attached to the Remay using heat and suction. The process is fully reversible and will allow the mural to be displayed without future damage.
