Can anyone tell me why my 10 year old collie rescue wants to herd balls in the garden (footballs, tennis balls etc)? She was on a farm herding for 8 years and all she wants to do is herd balls now. Does she substitute balls for sheep? She snaps at them too like herding dogs do to sheep.

@hendrixexperiencedig you might laugh in amazement if its your first time seeing something like this. Imagine a little kid watching a bull dozer tear something down for the first time. Then imagine yours watching it for the 100th time. Let em enjoy those pups.

yeah that's what I'm saying, it's what they do every day . You don't laugh watching a builder working on a worksite do you.
