  • is that your attempt at making nanquan more traditional ?

    it didnt work

  • Nanquan as we know it isn't traditional and it never really has been.

And no, it's not my attempt at nanquan - it's just some guy doing it in a park somewhere.

If it looks traditional it's because it's a basic nanquan form; which you'll hardly see these days. It focuses more on basic nanquan movements; which is why I posted it.

  • this man is great nanquan master

i mean contemporary nanquan,he is very famous in china like wu bin, zhang wen guan

so, if u do not know him do not say he suck!!

may be one day u will ask his student to teach u wushu, so try to be more polite pls.

  • Great man, Great teacher Zhu Rui Qi,my teacher since 1991 in BSU.

  • thanks for posting this rare footage of master Zhu Ruiqi from the beijing university of P.E. Very important wushu master with several decades of dedication and achievements!

  • does anyone have anny idea where i can see a slower version? i need to learn this

  • This routine is call san duan nan quan... And pls la... how old is that man? i bet those ppl who say he sucks, cant even eat his one punch.... Have more knowledge on wushu before making negative comments and have more sportsmanship by not saying ppl sucks...

  • This is actually on a wushu masters video I saw. This particular video shows one of the earlier Nanquan masters who probably helped develop the original Nanquan compulsory forms. Nanquan is not a traditional style on its own. It's only like 50-60 years old, and combines elements from various traditional southern styles. This is probably close to how it originally looked though... obviously different from today.
