SOphie

This is a dance i choreographed for UCO's Student Choreography Showcase on May 6, 2008. It is about an anorexic girl, named sophie, who wants to be healthy like all the other girls. The people around her constantly offer support, but it is never enough. In the end sophie is consumed by the disease and left a victim.

I'm choking back a lump. This dance was a great, accurate interpretation of this song, a powerful song I've seen so often wasted, and this choreography and these girls did both justice. What a talented group. This song means a lot to me, and I'm more reflective now than usual, it's EDAW 2011 (US); I'm recovered anorexic. Thank you.

I laughed a little everytime your shoes made noise but I was also crying at the same time because this is such a powerful dance and you girls managed to tell the story of the song perfectly.
