WOWZER! Listening to you opened my mind a little more to the effects of alcohol and binge eating. My eating plan will fail if I drink but I'd rather have a bunch of drinks with friends than stay at home and eat lots of food. The annoying thing is, I know I will always eat junk after a few brews and I'll even eat more junk the next day when I'm nursing a hangover. I've been trying to figure out how I can control both, but it's difficult. It's good to hear someone else talking about it.
got a hole, growing into a bottomless pit? = devastation. very complex, lots to it... how does one balance between necessary distractions / taking breaks and maintaining focus & discipline? the entire diagnostics process (self-awareness & understanding) is grueling and can worsen some symptoms, yet it's a necessary part of self-care & healing.
self-medication ... ugh! sometimes the best medication is meditation. plenty of sources / guides / teachers on youtube.
Self medication...yup. I've switched off binging for drinking. I don't do it daily or even weekly, but at least once every 2 weeks is tiding me over, and yup it's self medicating to avoid the big annoying shit. Bleh.
good to see and hear from you. i appreciated this video. thanks for sharing. have a wonderful day. not sure if you have ever checked out my channel, but i think you may gain some mindful information there. feel free to check it out. take care.
Great vid. It's taken me 15 years and two major rounds of yo-yo dieting to finally come to terms with the fact that I was eating to relieve stress and/or depression. The problem is, eating works and works well. But it destroys my body, of course. I never turned to alcohol or drugs but I very easily could have and in many ways feel like a "food-a-holic". The only "answer" for me is to replace eating with exercise. But everyone has their own custom solutions. Good luck to you.
