끝없는 열정과 도전, 에픽 하이!

2003년 가을에 데뷔해 7년이 지난 오늘도 여전히 사랑을 받고 있는 에픽하이. 이들은 음악 외에 큰 활동 없이도 장수하고 있고, 트렌드에 얽매이지 않으면서도 앨범마다 대중과의 호흡과 평단의 예찬, 그 어느 쪽도 놓치지 않는다. 지난 1년 동안은 미국, 일본과 유럽에서 투어를 하며 해외에서도 대단한 파급력을 증명했다. 작년은 Daft Punk와 Justice의 프로듀서 Pedro Winter가 선정한 월드 대표 아티스트로 활동하였고, 올해는 세계 음악인의 축제인 MIDEM에서 대한민국 대표로 무대를 장식했다. 그 외에도 프랑스의 대표 흑인음악 방송 Trace TV에서 취재 된 이후 최근에는 전세계로 방영되는 뉴스 프로그램 CNN Talk Asia에서 영화배우 장동건, 이병헌 이후 국내 뮤지션으로서는 이례적인 특집 촬영을 했다. 세상이 인정하는 힙합그룹으로 성장하고 있는 에픽하이, 이들이 앞으로 어떤 작품들을 선보일지 기대와 흥분이 넘친다.

에픽하이의 '에필로그', 긴 음악 생활의 결과물!

단어 'epilogue'는 연극에서 극의 종말에 추가한 끝대사 또는 보충한 마지막 장면을 말한다. 에픽하이의 새로운 앨범 "epilogue"는 7년동안 11장의 앨범을 거쳐 이어 온 음악 생활의 정점을 찍는 작업물이다. 신곡들은 물론, 몇년동안 수백개의 곡들을 만들면서 숨겨뒀던 혹은 완성하지 못했던 작업물들 중에서 보석들만 모아 완성한 특별한 앨범이다. 늘 그래왔듯이, 이번에도 멤버들이 모든 곡을 직접 작곡, 작사, 편곡하며 꼼꼼한 독착성과 음악적인 고집을 들어낸다. 앞으로 몇년동안 공식 활동이 없을 에픽하이, 그들의 "epilogue"는 오랜 시간 준비한 선물이며 에픽하이의 음악을 사랑해 준 모두를 향한 보답이다.

타이틀곡 'Run'!

"Fly", "Fan", "Love Love Love", "One" 등 단순한 히트 곡이 아닌 메세지를 전하는 노래들로 가요계를 풍부하게 한 에픽하이. 이번에는 "Run"이라는 희망 가득한 곡을 선보인다. 다양한 사회적인 병들로 인해 앓고만 있는 수많은 사람들, 꿈은 높은데 현실은 늪처럼 느껴지는 소외된 모두를 향해 외치는 위로의 한마디: 그래도 달리자, 끝까지. '질주'를 연상시키는 연주와 리듬 위에 에픽하이 특유의 문학적인 가사가 경쾌하면서도 감성 풍부한 곡으로 합쳐진다. 아무리 도망쳐봐도 벗어날 수 없는 현실속에 사는, 아무리 달려봐도 제자리인 당신이라면 이 곡을 듣고 한걸음 더 힘차게 이어나가길 바란다.

So his girlfriend dumped him for being such a pain for her.. (yeah, shallow people.. >_>) However, he was broken, he just wanted to "run away". But after a while he learned to look foward and not to take a step back. So he got back to his hobby, boxing and sports. He successfully did, with his one leg. Touching. :/

Though, I have to admit, I don't think there's anybody out there, who'd be strong as that boy..

@xValurieChingkyx You almost got it right. It's about a boy who had made bad experience in the past. It starts with getting the camera to his birthday. He noticed his parents fighting, which hurt him really. So he got in trouble by drinking alc. & doing bad stuff, his dad punished him for that, his conscience got even worse so he drove his motorbike, got an accident and lost his leg. His girlfriend dumped him for being such a pain.. what I understand is, she didn't want to take the charge of him

Oh god.. genius MV. x-x Love it... so moving lol Though, let's be honest. No one would be as strong as that guy in that MV.. I was moved ;_; thumps up!

As for the music, it sounds too much like c-rap.. I don't like it.. but I like the sound.
