just a comparison his 2nd 50 is 24.68 and Lezak's 2nd 50 in beijing is 24.56 in the lzr suit+the race of his life

I agree with everything you said except the last part. Van Den Hoogenband always had bad starts, it was the weakest part of his races.

Agreed! This is the fastest time EVER swam without those cheating suits. Hoogenband even had a bad start, meaning he could have gone faster.
