Litter-Robot II Review: Day #1

I decided that I wanted to take a look at the new style of automatic litter boxes out there, and after a little bit of research, I decided to do a review on the Litter-Robot II from Automated Pet Care Products Inc. This is not your old automatic litter box, this is a modern piece of cutting edge cat poop dispensing technological piece of equipment; or at least that was my initial thought when I first saw it online. But we will all see for ourselves as both me and my cats put it through its paces and determine just how cool this thing really is.

@SageyBoo17 Hey moron! I am the guy doing this review...and I know all about newborn kittens; I used to volunteer at a animal shelter. Did you open that YT channel just to leave your witty coment here? Jeez...

@BeanMeister22 Uh, newborns are too small and do not have the motor skills to be able to get in. Newborns also cannot go to the bathroom on their own (and when they do go it is only urine) until they are a few weeks old anyway. I've raised multiple litters of kittens. And they wouldn't be able to fall in, if you'd actually listened to this guy's review, you'd know that it is programmed to NOT move when a cat is inside it. Anyway, who are you, Lord of the Cat Shit? Jeez....

@leokimvideo If they were small enough (new borns), they would end up in the waste hopper. If they are a couple of weeks old, they would either not fit in the waste holes, or they would block it off, and the LR would not be able to close the waste door because it would feel the obstruction. All that aside, I would bet that the kittens would enjoy walking around inside it as it went through the spin cycle; I know that I would :)

@Gyro911 Also, one thing we need to look at here, is that there are a lot of people who are just too lazy to properly care for their cats, and those people are apt to buy something like this and think it will solve everything, but this is by no means a maintenance free litter box, but I can go away for the weekend and it will be fine, without it I had to set out 6 extra litter boxes for my cats. Without this LR, I had to scoop 5 litter boxes, twice a day. Now I scoop 2 litter boxes once a day.

@Gyro911 It really is not a flaw, as the instruction manual clearly states that you need to use a high quality clumping litter; that would solve just about every complaint I have seen about this unit having waste on the inside walls. Do I wish it were bigger? Yes I do.
