Originally I was just going to mess around and see how quick I could tweak up a Nintendo MIDI track while filming the process. Well, it ended up taking a whole day. Literally.
I started by picking out a track from a small library, eventually setttling on the Shadow Man stage theme from Mega Man 3.
While messing around with the music, I saw the footage of Lawrence Lessig of Creative Commons fame being interviewed by Colbert. I thought the two could be mixed together. While the main melodies are from a Nintendo game, some of the sounds in the song are from users on Lessig's site, CCmixter.
From start to finish, I filmed the entire creative process. I apologize if the footage isn't very concerned with showing the actual song making process in detail...
This song isn't for any particular project, so if you want an actual copy of the song, just let me know!
