I don't recall either Liam Neeson or Ralph Fiennes winning an Oscar for Schindler's List, so I'm pretty fuckin' sure that means there's a huge hole in your logic.

Mostly because everyone assumed that it was going to be either Daniel Day-Lewis or Jack Nicholson, since they had been winning all the awards leading up to the Oscars. Adrien Brody only won two or three prizes from critics and festivals, plus he was a relative unknown and very young, competing against four of the most famous, established, and acclaimed actors around. It was just unlikely, and he's still the youngest Best Actor winner ever.

That is retarded. Just because of the holocaust?!! DDL was the ONLY good part of that film. And he was very, very good at that character. But Brody conveyed a part of the human spirit that transcends all Hollywood politics and delves straight to the core of what we all crave as audience members and performers...HEART. And Compassion. It takes a certain level of emotional intelligence to understand this.

You all know that DDL got robbed !! They gave the Oscar to Adrien just because of the Holocaust and political correctness, his performance in The Pianist was great, but DDL perfermance as Bill The Butcher in Gangs of New York was fuckin unbelievable !!
