This is the song that "apprentley" started the downfall of stock aitken and waterman but i think its still a great song and love the two girls in it. If anyone has info or pics what the girls are up to now please let me know

Wonder if they listen to Fleetwood Mac while they are working at their checkout.

Thank you! I was wondering about that, too.
I was *pretty* sure it wasn't what Sean was thinking, but I couldn't figure out what it might be.

Not sure if you're serious, but "jacking" was a house music dance style. See the song "My House" by Fingers Inc. or "Jack Your Body".

Does I'd Rather Jack mean what I think it does?

Good point indeed.
Oddly, this is in the style of Mel&Kim which featured Shirley Lewis (the name Mel Appleby is actually a clever play on SL) , who's also worked with Arthur Baker.

Upbeat & catchy. If they hadn't had such lyrics that went against the 'sacred' gods of rock it might have been a huge hit. Oh well.

I know it rhymed but using Fleetwood Mac was wrong in every way-if the girls were coming from the acid house perspective Arthur Baker's 'House On The Hill Mix' of FM's 'Big Love' from 1987 was about THE only tune from a 'rock' group that was played on the Acid House scene in 1988/89 and if they're representing the mainstream pop disco girl there was nothing the average one who frequented such places liked doing more than having a dance to 'Little Lies', 'Everywhere' type FM. I know I was there.

I'd rather jack them, with a 9mm pistol.

I daresay both of them are housewives in the Midlands somewhere, with 3 kids and grandchildren on the way, and probably neither of them ever mention this to anyone. I'm sure they're embarassed by it - as they should be.
