Pink Book III Launch / Lancement de la nouvelle édition du L

Today in Ottawa the Liberal Party launched the Pink Book, a series of policy recommendations for a new Liberal government. The Pink Book focuses on three areas: women in the economy, women's health and safety, and equality.

Aujourdhui à Ottawa, le Parti libéral a rendu public le Livre rose, qui formule des recommandations daction à lintention dun nouveau gouvernement libéral. Le Livre rose se concentre sur trois domaines : les femmes et léconomie, la santé et la sécurité des femmes, et légalité.

To clarify, the Liberal Party has had a minimum quota for women candidates for several years - this was NOT a specific policy of Dion.

Prime Ministers Chretien and Martin also appointed women as candidates to try and reach the quota.

as long as the leader doesnt go around the country appointing women to meet a quota of womens candidates i support fully the liberals efforts to improve the lives of women

dion had it wrong by promising a quota of womens candidates and when it didnt happen naturally, try to magically fix the problem by short circuiting democracy

this is how you do it, empower women to be the best they can be and if that means political office, great, if it doesnt, we should ask the question why
