Some 10 years ago Gus Bolwijn made a remarkable find. In a batch of Euonymus 'Sunspot' liners, he noticed one branch with exceedingly attractive leaves. Unlike Sunspot, with it's small yellow spot, this branch displayed a big splash of pleasing yellow and a thin dark green margin. The sport was cloned and after years of testing it proved to a beautiful, neat growing shrub with superb hardiness and sunburn resistance. Hence, the birth of Blondy To say Blondy is a European success is an understatement. You can find Blondy® euonymus prominently displayed in all the major garden centers. And if you visit Adrian Bloom's garden in England, you'll find Blondy there too. Gus's chance sport has proven itself to be a beautiful, hardy shrub with sunburn resistance.
