Wonderful rare color, silent, home movies shot in Italy during WWII of a 5th Army maintenance unit setting up their tents. Great stuff of erecting a Large Wall tent. You see 2 1/2 ton trucks, and weapons carriers, grinding their way through a muddy field to set up a bivouac. The soldiers - including a helpful captain - set up a Large Wall tent, and you can see footage of a Storage Tent (the only color film of a storage tent that I have ever seen) and a M1934 Pyramidal Tent as well. This was loaned to me by a friend years ago, and we cannot remember the exact unit. But its 5th Army in Italy. Please see the C-Ration film for more imagery of these guys in camp.
It is amazing how much the trucks resemble those used in Vietnam. They even have a little mascot that looked a lot like the one my unit had when we were north of Da Nang.
