@o56kid You're thinking of Pacific or Atlantic Halibut, The halibut these dudes are fishing for is the California Halibut, and uncommonly exceeds 30 inches in length. California Halibut are the pacific coastline relative of the Summer Flounder, which is caught in the gulf.

@ megaasdeq I hate faggots that cry foul right away whenever people catch a shorty. Give them a moment to enjoy the fact that they caught a fish. Fishermen know the size limits. They don't need to hear your pissing and moaning about it not being big enough. Catch your own damn fish then you can talk about other people's catch. But I would probably just bust you in the mouth.
