yes, he might have been very unfortunate. i don't claim that he is a true champion of democracy, but at least, he was far more fair and liberal than the old school Russian leaders. And what is more, he was right to appoint Putin, although, it depends on how you want to look at it...

For traitors like you Jeltsin will of course be a hero, also for capitalists, imperialists and fascist scums. But this is just a small part of the people, the most people, people like me, Jeltsin will always be a a traitor and a liar. He lied and betrayed the communists AND the postrussian people. And you know nothing about russian politicy and history, if you think that Jeltsin wanted democracy. He used the russians only to get to the presidents seat. 1995 the communists won and he shoted them.
