:D yea especially during spring, driving downtown and seeing all the old oaks and spanish moss and the blooming azaleas surrounding the 100+ year old houses

Pretty but there is more than that to see there. Downtown Mobile and the old homes is very pretty.

This is my town. I live in Minneapolis and I love my City of Lakes and as I tell my friends here, you can take the boy out of the south but you will never take the south out of the boy. I worship my Mobile now and forever. (Come on Mobile 1611 when did Minneapols become a city 1978? OH! 1888 it was still 277 (almost 300) years after Mobile. Mardis Gras? Not New Orleans (New Orleans didn't exist for another 75 years)

Downtown Mobile is so quiet. There is such a lack of life compared with years ago. There should be shops restaurants, pubs, businesses and people. They are all driving around the suburbs in their cars. It is quite sad.

The book,"American Hauntings", has a chapter on southern places and tells of many sites in Mobile. The area where this house is at is full of live oaks, isn't it? Along Government? I love the way it looks down through there. Especially during the springtime.

I meant "check out".
I am originally from Scotland and have travelled all over and settled in Mobile AL I love it! The people here are so friendly and care much about their families, it is one of the fastest growing cities in AL.

I am from California and recently received an army ROTC scholarship to the University of South Alabama. How is the school and the Mobile area?

The University of South Al is one of the best schools in the southeast I believe, my daughter also attends there.
