I am finally old enough to purchase long guns. Sadly, I wished I had obtained an sks when they were so cheap, I am getting a Mosin Nagant though =)

@wowrulz12 oh my apoligies then I miss understood what he said
-
@Waynside no he did not say that, they use to sell them for 79 dollars but the price has gone up over time due to demand
-
you said dealers get these for 79 to 100 dollars and they sell them for 300 freaking dollars? WTF man that is more then 100% profit that is highway robbery

@JewGriggs It is safer for your fingers, to just release the mag and pull the bolt back.
-
I used a sks once before, but it had a 30 round clip and a synthetic stock and body, the bolt also looked a little different than the one on this video.

Do you just twist the pegs to open the pouches or do you just mess with it till it opens(yes im actually asking, not insulting)? Also where should I look for a SKS gun store, pawn shop, gun show and so on.
Take care.

I think "SKS" stands for "samozaryadny carabin sistemy simonova" (I probably spelled it all wrong, lol)
Hey, I just bought an sks. I noticed something strange. The bult won't close un less i open the box mag. Is that suposed to happen, or is that because there was no ammo in it?

@JewGriggs An empty SKS allows the bolt stop to hold the bolt open until you add rounds. Then you pull back on the bolt and it will close. You can release the bolt on an empty mag by depressing the stop but be careful not to crush your finger.
