the main reason Ike did so bad is he didn't use his trump card- the counter! If he'd used that it might've ended differently

To datz: Ike used the combat walk. Basically you hold the A, release, and hold it again. Practice until it becomes natural, it's hard at first. Other characters that can do this include ZS Samus and Luigi.
