This video is a disgrace! The people of Puerto Cabezas have a voice, let them speak about their situation in Puerto Cabezas. It´s the ever repeated mistake of development cooperation: treat the "locals" like victims without power and agency instead of give them the power to change. Education is power. Go there and treat the symptoms of the problem produces dependence and the colonial order continues. I guess what they merit is Empowerment!

@terradax what happened to your ancestors was a horrible tragedy of humanity. the name of God was abused and corrupted for evil gain at the expense of human life. tragic. today people are kidnapped, raped and sold into slavery in the name of sex. is sex bad? no. sex is good. sex corrupted for evil gain at the expense of human life is bad. when man strips love from something good, it becomes evil. evil was done in the name of Jesus. does that mean love can not be done in His name now?

@OpenDoerr well, about 100 million natives were killed murdered raped, pillaged, and assimilated in his name. in his name my ancestors died. think about it. what happens if that person does not want to believe in jesus would they be helped? the answer is no for every Christian is brainwash to brain wash someone else's belief. i believe that jesus existed but he was not the son of god. a superior being and mind does not need children or tools. all he or she or it needs is nothing for its god.

@terradax well. I guess you outed us. it's true. Churches want people to believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the only way to reconcile God to man. We want everyone in the world to believe this and experience a life fully connected to God here on earth and one day in heaven. We want to extend and expand the rule and reign of Jesus Christ to every person on the planet. That means obeying Him. He told us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and care for the orphans....Guilty as charged.

@OpenDoerr the only reason these churches go there is to convert people from indigenous belief and spread the "WORD" god. i was born in Nicaragua, nejapa. logically there is an agenda....from these churches some do good while others simply assimilate peoples traditions languages customs and even the way they dress, its basically happening all over again just without killings (what would the media say) little that the volunteers know whats behind closed doors. God is within not outwards.

@terradax well, they're doing this. raising awareness. risking lives. giving up their welfare, time, passion in the name of Jesus Christ to help the poor, outcast and marginalized. People in churches made this video. People in churches are the people you see in this video. People in churches are donating money to send people to help people they have never met and never would meet.
