The Nintendo Virtual Boy was released in 1995 and was a big flop for Nintendo. It was one of the first 3D stand alone systems made up to this time.

  • There is something about this review being in 3D that just seems right.

  • You are an Hero. Buying the Virtual Boy at day one... At that price... You deserved a medal! :)

I don't agree when you say that the 3D effect on Virtual Boy is better than the 3DS' one. Maybe are my eyes but I remember that I can't really see the 3D on this freaking thing...

And Red Alarm deserve more love. wireframe all-red poligons in 3D: wonderfullly crazy! But my favorite Virtual Boy game is Vertical Force :)

  • batman arkhum asylum GOTY edition gave me free 3d glasses ....now i can watch gamerster81 in 3d instead of breaking my eyes :D

  • man it was kinda ridiculous how Nintendo Power had a top 5 Virtual Boy Games list...and you said they only made 14 games for the systems whole lifespan??......

  • @IzLoveMoneyz let your eyes relax, try to get closer to the screen, try to get further away etc. your looking to try to get an image in the middle of the two other images.

  • the 64dd was more of an add-on? It was an add-on.

  • I picked up a Virtual Boy last weekend and I've been LOVING Wario Land. That game is fantastic. The 3D effect in the system is pretty awesome, and overall I can't complain about it.

Something neat to note that John didn't have is that you CAN get an AC adapter for the system which then makes use of a SNES power cable so you don't have to use batteries with it. The one I got has this AC adapter and as far as I know it's the only "peripheral" released for the console.

  • Hit the one in the middle!

  • Great review, I really want this system.

  • Just to watch this video I had to: Download the video using YouTube downloader, convert to PSP format, move to my PSP SD Card VIDEO folder, get my TobiaAc!d 3D goggles (Came With Metal Gear Ac!d 2) and then put the SD card back into the PSP and watched. All I can say is that is was totally worth it and will do it every video just to see it in 3D!

  • WIN!!!!! Dude, crosseyed 3d on this is win.

  • Ow, looking into the Virtua Boy with the glasses on burnt the red in my eye. XD
