@nali82 Roddick's best surface is grass. Indian Wells is a slow hardcourt (plexipave) which is only an "okay" surface for him. His plays much better on the fast hardcourts (Decoturf) of Cincinnatti and the US Open. But grass is definetely his best surface (4 times Queens champion; 3 times Wimbledon runner up).

nadals reactions were sharp as a sharpened sword, which distinctively gave him a huge advantage over a-rod that day. took the ball on the rise lots of times too, to throw off roddick. he was rushing him alot. good play from rafa, but i didnt roddick played too badly.

@BrotherTree1 well said, especially since Rafa was playing against Andy on arguably his best surface and in front of his home crowd. Roddick is almost always tough to beat in the States.

Yes,but this aspect won't change for an year or two... It's his attitude that tears his game apart... Game tactics include insensible rush to the net and bad choice of shots when he has the advantage in a point... I hope that Larry Stefanki will totally reconstruct his mind-game and footwork so that Roddick can prove that he has a load of talent .

@NickStriker I'd say he's a much better mover now than he was before he's lost a load of weight since this match.

Roddick has so poor footwork in my opinion... If he hadn't had that powerful and accurate serve,he would have been out of the TOP 100 for sure. He lacks some motivation or what?! Always staying 2-3 m behind the baseline against Nadal?
