Through my studies, the big secret is Japan. Think about how they are portrayed in Hollywood(all media). At first they were flaky mongrels, now they are the most honourable and civil of people. Who makes that decision? Why make that decision? What is the timing of that decision?

I can't watch a TV show or a movie without there being an insulting play on Germans.

If people knew the history of Asia outside of ninjas, samurai, anime, kung fu etc., then they would see why it's kept "exotic".
