"What are you trying to accomplish when you engage a believer?"
-Michael Shermer
This is from the Beyond Belief Conference of 2006. I have uploaded them in this format so that it may appeal to broad audience looking for both individual lectures and the entire series. Please, if you enjoy these, donate to The Science Network.

Michael Shermer, a former college professor, is the founding publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Skeptic magazine. A monthly columnist for Scientific American, he is the author of The Science of Good and Evil. His most recent book, Why Darwin Matters: The Case Against Intelligent Design, is a discussion of the boundary between religion and science.--
I urge you to check out The Science Network's site as it has more information about this and many other interesting subjects. They hold the copyright on this material (to my knowledge) and if they should want me to remove this, I will comply. In my defense, I just wanted to get this information out to as many people as possible.
One word for this guy...soporific.

"Militant atheist..."
This phrase irritates me a lot. So if you want to be called a militant Christian/Muslim you have to go out kill and kill people. But to simply voice your opinions as an atheist that religion is nonsense you're a militant atheist? Hey, I'm a "militant" scientist, a "militant" rationalist- I won't go around and killing people nor will I advocate imposing beliefs...
