They're gone!

It all began at approximately 1:10PM on March 8th, 2011. Through my open window I heard the growing swarm of the bees. I filmed that swarm from behind my window screen, whilst I worked up my nerve to go outside with a tripod. Ten minutes later I was outside and incredibly it was all over. The swarm had already calmed down. I filmed for an hour just to get a feel for the activity of the mass of bees clinging seemingly precariously to a pine tree branch swinging in the wind. A few days later there was a quite severe rain storm, but the bees weathered the heavy rains with no problem.

It is sheer luck that on March 15th at 12:40PM that I began filming the bees again. For at 1:00PM on March 15th, exactly seven days later down to within 10 minutes, the bees burst apart their protective grouping and one minute later there was no trace of them.
