On November 8th, 2001 the college Republicans prevented Amir Abdel Malek Ali from giving his speech. Included in the group was Lance MacLean (man in the blue shirt being asked questions in the end), who claimed that this is his right of free speech.

Lance MacLean was later hired as the associate executive director of ASUCI; even after this video was shown to the administration (including the Chancellor). Obviously UCI did not have a problem with this.
