  • The reason your car handled poorly is that it was a Newport. Newport was the bottom of the Chrysler line...and the 300 was the top of the line. It had extra leaf springs, torsion bars, sway bar, and each was finished by hand off the assembly line. It had a 413 with dual fours, rather than a 361. These were high performing race cars that were actually sold on a very limited basis to the public. The ads said "The 300, a rare kind of car for a rare kind of man."

  • Where in this video do they mention a 361 2bbl Newport? Do not confuse a Newport with a dual carbed 300, entirely different driving cars.

  • I had one of these...a 1962 newport 2 door with a 361 V8, large two barrel carb. In their stock form these handle terrible. It took heavy duty monroe spring assist shocks, steel beted radials and and ADDCO rear anti sway bar to get it drivable

  • beautiful 2 parts to this vidios!!!! please keep them comming!!! ed

  • Mopar grunt - great post - Gene
