This music reminds me of the theme song to the New Jersey documentary on the former Snake Hill Asylum (Mental Institution) where in 2008-2009, the Federal Court ordered New Jersey to do the largest internment in US history. And the erie, ethreal music like this was playing. You gotta hear that one. Probably on YouTube somewhere. Lament and this one, Halleluja sound very similar.

It is great, and mystic! (I'm also German and I love the Libera boys!)

The composer is Robert Prizeman, who directs, trains and writes for the group Libera, the boys vocal ensemble that you hear here. As far as I know, it's an original composition and the title is actually "Lament for Jerusalem"
You might also enjoy his "mystrium" which is also quite haunting, as well as "voca me" which is based on pergolesi's stabat mater.

Whoa! This got my attention and rivetted it to the spot! What a beautiful and haunting piece of music. Does anyone know more about it? Composer? Part of what larger work? Time period.
