  • you guys just love comparing guitarists while failing to realize that every great guitarist, though innovative, has built on their knowledge of great guitarist. Benson said it himself, if you don't want him to borrow don't play in front of him. Stop comparing and appreciate each guitarist for his/her contribution to music on a whole. Also, people wanna say Andy McKee is the best. This guy is great but he plays a different style. Compare him to Stanley Jordan? These comparisons will never end!

  • Amen :-) but you gotta love these discussions :-)

  • @AllenPinchloaf trololololol

  • I've returned to this vid so many times--you can tell that Lage is lovin' George's playing. Both are just superb and seeing the two on stage together with what they both represent is good news for the future of jazz guitar.

  • I lOVE JAZZ Except when they start improvising. Its really just a series of wrong notes followed by more wrong notes.isn't it?Jazz music is based on fear really. Why you playin so softy.jAZZ is an accident waiting to happen.:>D

Nice lines from the kid yes!The next generation jazz monster.Sounds like they both listened to George Gobel alot! :>D

  • Lund´s phrasing is from outer space, In other words from Norway! :P

  • I find lund's playing in this piece to be really tasteful, maybe not taking as much risk as benson in his playing but it really works great, especially as a newer guitarist rising up in the jazz scene.

  • that kid is playing from his mind while benson is playing from the soul.. i like Lund's phrasing but it doesn't seem like it flows naturally... i don't want to turn this into a race thing because i've seen a few white guys with soul i.e. lee ritenour, john mayer and the list goes on... this guy just doesn't seem to have it

  • Ha... Benson is giving him a lesson on the bandstand. You can tell he's trying to break down some of his ideas while giving him the "watch this carefully" look. So awesome.

  • @goodsi right

  • god damn that kid has great 8th note lines! I would have crumbled in the sight of benson haha.

  • Few jazz guitarists compare to George Benson. A fucking guitar monster. Get a life losers.
