One of the reasons a lot of men don't respect many women is that the CONSTANT need for attention and validation is immature and child like.
We don't give children the same respect that we give to adults.

Another view: Women in our culture don't get dressed up for men. They do because they have been socialized to mis-measure their worth by their beauty, just as men mis-measure their worth by strength and power. Each then gets a short-term buzz from the corresponding "wow." But buying into this game reinforces the idea that we are not OK as we are and puts our sense of self in the hands of others. The over-equation of worth and beauty is also a basic unpinning of the unfair treatment of women.

I don't agree. I think both men & women like 'Wow' moments. Yet "Wow" moments are not the only opening for connection or what is essential to a woman's sense of security. What women want are EMPATHY & RESPECT. Their security comes from within themselves. Truly speaking, women want a quality partnership. One where they "Wow" each other and have fun doing it with no agenda in mind.
