This is an 1981 ad for the now defunct car dealer in Norwalk, CA. It features Harland and Madeline selling the latest Chevrolet cars at terms you can afford. Older folks may recall that this used to be known as Stanley Chevrolet. These ads usually contained a jingle that went:
TWO BLOCKS FROM THE SANTA ANA FREEWAY
1-1-9-8-0 EAST FIRESTONE
DIAL CHEVROLET.

Sadly, this ad only has the last part of the jingle, sung by Molly Bee. This aired in 1981 on KHJ 9 before it became KCAL

  • Too bad they don't have the jingle in there...there's just another video of some moron butchering it up on stage someplace making an ass out of himself

  • My feeling exactly. I would have loved hearing the jingle in full after all these years.

  • Does anyone have any old Alpha Beta commercials with Alan Hamel (Mr. suzanne Somers)?

  • I just uploaded it! Be sure and check it out.

  • Hello All,

While watching this video, if you FREEZE the ticker at 25 and 26 seconds, you will see a man and woman sitting in chairs before the jingle. This is yet another subliminal mind game used by advertisors during the 70's. If you watch it again without freezing, your subliminal mind will catch this. I remember these in all of the Dial Chevrolet commercials when I was little.

    GREAT JOB TERRY!

  • Thanks, radioguy95! OMG, you are RIGHT! Where did those people come from? I have many more Dial Chevrolet ads and a huge plethora of Cal Worthington ads from Southern CA and Northern, Ca as well. Hopefully, I will have to post a few up soon!

  • That was great! Even hearing just the end of the jingle sent me back! Does anyone have the Cormier Chevrolet commercial? "If you think you'd like a hand in buying a Chevy today...."

    Love to hear that!

  • There is a plaque on the firehouse stateing that it was used in the Emergency TV series back then.

  • Another great one. Thanks.

  • Did you know that Cormier Chevrolet is like a block away from the firehouse that was used as Station 51 on "Emergency"? It can be seen sometimes as the squad rolls out of the station eastbound on 223rd: just noticed that recently.

  • This used to be Williams Chevrolet. My dad bought a new 1972 Chevy Cheyenne pickup.
