Foods that are high in uric acid include coffee, alcohol, meats and dairy, and excess of these foods can cause stress on the kidneys. Balance out high-uric acid foods using plants foods with health information from a registered dietitian and licensed nutritionist in this free video on healthy eating.

  • Well, great - so according to this video and comments below AND research on line - apparently almost everything you eat is going to contribute on some level to gaut. Unless you drink water and unleavened bread! This sucks!!!

  • this video is inaccurate, see a doctor or nutritionist for proper advice

  • Actually, fructose, as found in fruit sugar, increases your uric acid levels. Unfortunately, sugar (half fructose half glucose) is found in pretty much all foods these days. It's practically the same thing as high fructose corn syrup, but high fructose corn syrup has slightly more fructose. Cut the sugar.

  • stop with that shit, smoke ganja

  • drink hot water 8 times a day,,,,,hot water,,,,,

  • I recently had a gout attack, all I know was I had organ meat about 2-4 days ago. Im taking Indocid for medical treatment, I really wanna know exactly what food to eat and to avoid. I love food. This is like the 4th or 5th attack the last 3 years and its a funny feeling.

  • I have no idea what she's talking about because lots of different nuts are high in purines. Some veggies are also high in purines.

If you have gout, you should not eat any animal products meat or dairy. You could eat foods that are either low or high in purines in moderation but then you will never be rid of gout 100%.

That's what my research has shown me, and i put my research into practice and my gout is getting better.

I see asparagus and eggs in the background which are high in purines.

  • when they say meats, is that red meats or all meats including chicken n turkey?

  • Basically, these foods are high in purines, which break down into uric acid. If your body is unable to get rid of the uric acid, you may end up with Gout. If so, cut back on alcohol and other high purine foods (particularly beer) and add black cherry juice to your diet. Works for me!

  • if this foods are full of uric acid what we can eat !!!!
