This is a short video that chronicles me making "A Lasting Impression," my game for the JGO Comp 2008. It was an 84 hour competition (3.5 days) that took place last year. The themes for the contest were "White Picket Fence" and "Armageddon," so in my game you play as a suburban homeowner living in the good old US of A during the cold war. Only this time it's becoming the hot war, because the Russians are about to bomb near your neighborhood. Hearing what happened at Hiroshima and Nagasaki with people leaving ash outlines on the buildings when they were blown up, you decide that you want to keep your lovely home clean. To do so, you must pile up as much junk on the outside of your house as possible, thereby keeping the paint fresh and clean.
The game is written in Java and uses Phys2D to handle the physics.
