A computer plays metronomically, as well as a bad pianist, whereas Martha Argerich OWNS time through a flexible, but organic pulse, which is subordinate to the musical expression, and may change naturally. I’ve seen her live last year, she is a force of nature at the piano, possesses an inner strength capable of converging time and space into an unique mystical, dazzling experience. Sheer energy.
