  • may seem like a silly queston, but why all the smoke?

  • @mickaelvella cuzz trucks like this run on diesel motors that are highley modified thus producing the smoke

  • is this in cuba missouri? thats a nice rig

  • no its in meadvill, pa

  • Thats a Mack Superliner. Its called the scalded dog. Fred Sanders is my boss. He is the one who own all of the silver bullet trucks and this truck has been at our shop before.

  • what ever happend to this truck because this was the last time i have ever saw it and i have been to alot of pulls and the sanders never bring this truck anymore

  • @darkdragonu1 Sure about that?

  • @atlasdaddy u got that shit of the wikipedia....(^_^)

  • @atlasdaddy YOU are absolutely correct 100 percent .

  • @maderman101 learn something new every day :-) My day of searching on Youtube is now worthwhile lol

  • @mickaelvella Black smoke is un-burnt fuel in any application ( gas or diesel ). Basically, there is more fuel being injected into the cylinders then can be burnt for any number of reasons. Only the amount of fuel that can be oxidized under compression (mixed with oxygen and squished) will be burnt, the rest is thrown out the stack as black smoke. Hope that helps.

  • @mickaelvella

to accurately answer your question, it has to due with the fact that they are overfueled to keep a consistent fuel pressure at high psi. Once the turbo spools up, normally.. smoke goes away.. but these are running full out max power, so they just dump as much fuel as possible to achieve that. dont forget diesel doesn't have a throttle plate, its all controlled by fuel volume.

  • @Haukus Acually this motor puts out less greenhouse gas then a family sedan but it makes a lot of smog forming pollutants. So use diesels in the country and no real harm done.

  • The smoke is unburnt diesel fuel remnants. If the motor is propane injected it burns all of the smoke and makes power out of it instead of putting a cloud out of the pipe.

  • @mickaelvella trucks are dumping large amounts of fuel into the engine so not all the fuel gets burnt

  • didn't the driver hear the crack? and let off the throttle? i know i would have done, lol
