Within Temptation - The Promise (Tribute)

"The Promise", in my opinion, is Within Temptation's greatest masterpiece. Both the lyrics and music are epic, enchanting and powerful.

The vocals are angst ridden, sorrowful and beautifully mastered by Sharon. It's these vengeful, sad lyrics that work in part to make this song the BEST of Within Temptation.

Even the live version has it's own style and grit.

I can't help but cry everytime I hear it. Not just because the singing is FANTASTIC! But because I feel for this character in the song. I want her to have her revenge, but at the same time I mourn her loss.

Basically, I'm obsessed with this song. It will always be number one!

I rarely comment on fan made compilation type videos...preferring the live videos because of the quality...HOWEVER...this is by far the best WT fan made/compiled vid/song I've ever seen. The entire beginning with Sharon dancing, moving....top notch choice of clips...seemless editing...very impressive. Thanks!! We can all enjoy what you've made here....WT is simply the best. Classy, powerful, emotional...music you can literally feel in your body.

Great job with the video! I ususally prefer live videos, but this is pretty darn good. I have to say I am shocked that The Promise is not recognized more as one of the masterpieces of WT and goth rock in general. It really is an incredible song, lyrically and melodically it is out of this world.
