@ioisa It's not just because she's a woman it's because she isn't backed by the machine called Hollywood. There have been many directors who pay homage to old films and get put down for it. Tarrantino has so much support from his fans and the studio system that he can do whatever he wants pretty much.

How did she manage to get the color of the technicolor film? This is a amazing.

The dialogue was the most dissappointing part of this film. The rest was great. Biller has talent, absolutely. It had to be seen, but it was a bit too long. I enjoyed all the references to French films :)

Good Grindhouse.
Does anybody have a torrent for this?

Considering the picture is meant to be a tribute / parody of 1970s sexploitation flicks, is it bad as in "so bad it's good" -- or just plain BAD?

I saw this in Rochester last weekend. It was the most laughably ridiculous and horrible movie I have ever seen. I want my night back!!!

re: scotpens: IMHO it was just plain old BAD! It was pretensious, insulting, and boring. Ms. Biller seems to be under the impression that she is a filmmaker when in reality she is at best, a set designer.

I have to disagree. Simply because if it's Tarantino doing the "quoting old B-movies" genre, everyone is there to applaude; but if a woman does the same (with less waste of money and more skills) there we fall in the same old cliché of telling her to quit directing and going into set design... VIVA is a great, humorous film, no doubt!
