Hi Inger Marie.. you know, as an ex Dj covering three decades.. I've listened to literally hundreds of versions of this song. Rod's version beats them all.. EXCEPT this...it stunned me with the jazz feel, it changed sufficiently with your interpretation of the chorus to make it special.. above special. It has real class this one. Smooth yet deep, like a cappucino with amoretto flavouring.. wails and yet soothes. A marvellous piece of musianship. Thank you for this offering..genial- Phil

Such passion and fire in your voice, and yet a peaceful calm about you and your beautiful tone Inger! I absolutely LOVED it. Well done.

The world is too full of is only's. If only the opium poppy didn't exist. If only men didn't harvest it for greed. If only others didn't manufacture heroin from it. If only others didn't cut & sell it to others. If only someone didn't introduce the writer of this song to it. If only he had the strength to say no. Danny Whitten 8th May, 1943 - 18th November, 1972 the writer and original singer of this song.
Inger Marie, you sing it as it was meant to be sung, as Danny wanted it to be sung.
