Work by the prolific Ron English marries high and low culture with a unique, vivid imagination. Trained as a photographer, English moved to painting because he thought the medium would be a cheaper artistic alternative. He cut his teeth painting landscapes for a New York firm specializing in decorative wares for hotels, learning the finer points of brushes and canvas while trying to scrape together a reasonable living. His decision to move from film certainly paid off.

Over the course of his career, English has become one of the most recognized American contemporary artists. Whether bombing billboards, creating toys for the likes of Kidrobot, or collaborating on t-shirts with The Hundreds, English brings a signature wit to all his varied projects. Notable works include his Abraham Obama series and the famous Mc Supersize doll (featured in the Supersize Me documentary). And, yeah, he's also made music — which you'll hear in the video.
