Belive it or not.
Every one now call Mandarin and Cantonese are different language.
Dialect is wrong term to mention 2 language: Mandarin and Cantonese.

Minnan(hokkien) can use latin character to creat Minnan(hokkien )writing system.It is very easy to creat and easy to learn
MAndarin has Pinyin(Latin character) do you know it.Very easy to learn and to creat it

Guangdong dialect,you want to mention to Cantonese?
Yes,I know they have 3 wrting system :1,chinese wrting system which was taught for all chinese
2.Cantonese wrting system which is pictograms also,but only Cantonese understand it
3.Cantonese latin character
I thing Cantonese is language,not dialect.They are truly language.Ok.

@BAIYUE1 Yeah, I know it. But in comparison with the Guangdong dialect, our Minnanyu has not our own system for people to learn , which is a shame and weakness, however, I love Minnanyu, and especially when I leave my hometown and live in a strange city. It's great to blend in the people from different part of the country but keeping your own feature is also very important, I think. Hope one day Minnanyu can be carried forward. I am too ready ro say, maybe.

My wife speaks Hokkien but I am an idiot as far as this dialect is concerned. I hope to learn it through songs and other means.
