I go over how to factory reset and set the DVR to record on motion and setting the date and time..... The reason you would factory reset is incase a setting is wrong or somthing does not work the way it use to..... Factory reset is a cure for a lot of common issues. NOTE you will lose all settings like masking and network so be very careful to nate any settings in the network prior to a factory reset
