@garyflyer May I recommend the Spitfire from Phoenix models. The model is well built, covering is excellent (oracover) I think and the retracts are solid metal. Flies excellent!

@HorizonHobbyGB the retracts are horrible, they are bent and just doe not look good at all. shame as the rest of the model looks fairly nice. why do the designers make nice planes then stick tacky cheap nasty retract units in them. they should go the whole way. people would still buy them. gary

Depends how deep your pockets are.! :-) I would personally buy a trainer 1st to get the basics down. Then maybe move over to something like this.
