Fabulously talented lead voice in The Students! Sorry to say that I never got the chance to see 'em live although they did play the Apollo Theater at least once during their abysmally short heyday!

Leroy King is the original lead who went off to Vietnam. Maybe the man you met was talking about Leroy?

@PJDooWop I met a man in Georgia in 1998 that told me he became the lead singer of students after something had happened with original lead singer(if i remember correctly). He also mentioned that he sang and recorded "Everyday of the Week" "Im So Young" and "My vow to you" he is 66 now i believe.

I think, but i'm not sure, that Ronnie Haig played on many Note Records cuts. One of my favorite tunes from "Note" was Pickin on the Wrong Chicken" by The Five Stars.

@12014343lk - Yes, Ronnie was on most, if not all of the Note sessions. I'm not sure if he is the lead guitarist here (the Students own guitarist played on this song when they practiced), and if you listen closely there are two guitars on this recording
